Referencing an artist's work can be an important part of the creative process by revealing something interesting about their intentions, philosophies or processes in the context of your own imagery. This series in Wonder Valley, California references the Isolated Houses of visual artist John Divola who has characterized photography as artifact engagement in the world. While Divola's style is inimitable, I referenced his intent to engage in a place where "nature and culture intersect" on the infinite desert plain.
